Effective DNA repair mechanisms

Chlorella has been on the earth since the Pre-Cambrian Period-over 2.5 billion years! It was the first form of cell with a true nucleus. Its survival to modern times is a tribute to its inherent genetic stability, hardiness and unusually effective DNA-repair mechanisms. As we shall see, these characeristics are important to its healing
effects is Man. Since it is the simplest from of a cell with true nucleus, its study should give science a greater understanding of how cell function. Unfortunately, due to its small size, it was not until 1890 that Chlorella was discovered and named by Beyerinck.
